Blackjack History : The game was christened 'Blackjack' because if a player held a Jack of Spades and an Ace of Spades as the first two cards, the player was paid out extra. So with Spades being black and Jack being a vital card - Blackjack was born. The actual birthplace of Blackjack is somewhat hazy, but it is thought to have probably stemmed from such French games such as "chiming de fer" and "French Ferme".

Poker History : The name of the game likely descended from the French poque, which descended from the German pochen ('to knock'), but it is not clear whether the origins of poker itself lie with the games bearing those names. It closely resembles the Persian game of as nas, and may have been taught to French settlers in New Orleans by Persian sailors.

Roulette History : Roulette may have been invented or improved upon in the mid l7th Century by a French scientist, Blaise Pascal during a "monastic retreat" and played for the first time in a Paris casino. Others have theorized a French monk created the game to relieve the boredom of a monastic life.

Slot History : The first slot machine was built his first in 1896 by Charles Fey he never could have envisioned where the machine would travel and how it would transmogrify. In fact, for a hundred years his innovation hardly changed at all, except cosmetically. The external design, consisting of an ornate metal box was wrapped around the mechanism and became fancier or plainer, larger or smaller, in attempt to attract the eye.

Baccarat History : There are historical debates concerning the exact source of the game, although many feel it is Italian in origin, while others claim the French invented it. Wherever it was invented, baccara (Italian) or baccarat (French) both translate to "zero" in English.

Bingo History : Bingo begins its known history in sixteenths century, with the reunification of Italy. One of the major reforms in Italy was initiation of the national state lottery, Lo Giuco del Lotto d'Italia. Ever since then, this lottery is operated by the state and brings major revenues to the country's treasury.
